How to add a mid-century modern style to your home

This interior is a great gift for the mother of the customer who moved from another city to the suburbs and how to add a mid-century modern style to your home? The wishes were simple: get a bright and spacious apartment for a steady life outside the city; the interior, which would be comfortable as the next host and guests who often visit grandchildren.

Also announced the need for two bathrooms – needed master bathroom with entrance from bedroom and guest bathroom.

Originally, the apartment had a free plan – it was possible to place partitions as needed. In the kitchen very high ceilings – this is the sixth floor, the last. The space in this part of the apartment turned out to be double height. And in this respect, the logical solution was a combination of kitchen-dining room and living room – tall windows always make a public ceremony area.

The volume turned out to be filled with light – to share it with the corridor I decided to do sliding walls from floor to ceiling. According to my sketches, they were made of split doors colored ash slats – they are a lot of air that separates the corridor from the living room.

Artistic decoration ideas

After the customer's request to combine the elegant simplicity and luxury, I decided to choose the most eco-friendly material, but it is quite complex artistic decoration.

Floors in the kitchen area living room, dining room, floor light shade, coverings in the bedroom are made in dark colors. The walls of the room we used the author's decorative plaster, textile and linen veneered wood panels. The bedrooms also used decorative plaster a wall in the bedroom, decorated with velvet wallpaper.

The bathrooms are covered with granite marble. In the master bath we placed the podium from the deck teak wood, the wall behind the bathroom was decorated with relief mosaic.

In the kitchen-living room-dining room, all storage is concentrated to the kitchen set. Other cabinets are not provided – we did not want to move the space, mainly for communication.

But in the bedroom has a large dressing room and wardrobes in the guest room. In the corridor we fitted the closet for coats. Small cabinets in bathrooms make it possible to accommodate all the necessary but still the biggest difference in this apartment is that the landlady lives alone, and for how to add a mid-century modern style to your home?
