There is a special love between me and the velvet fabric. It goes way back to the burgundy velvet that I covered my piano with when I went to school. In short, the piano is no longer with me, but every time I see someone wearing velvet, from the memory I can hear myself playing the piano in my head. That’s just a story that comes to mind once I decide to write this blog post about the velvet leggings. Because of their unique appearance, they are surprisingly easy to style. I’ve rounded up some of the best ways to wear velvet leggings for you. Let’s look at them now.
All black outfit with velvety leggings
I know that some people are not very familiar with wearing velvet gaiters. Perhaps it’s the soft fabric that makes them feel insecure, or the shape that shows the curves of the legs too transparently. So I’d like to start the list with an outfit that is extremely easy to take off, as if you were all wearing black jeans. This is an outfit that consists of a black long sleeve top, black velvet leggings, oxford shoes, and a knitted scarf. The velvet gaiters are not particularly noticeable in the outfit. They just add a bit of depth with their unique texture.
Chiffon blouse with green velvet gaiters
Now let’s get to some outfits that actually make the velvet leggings look more obvious. For example, wear a long chiffon blouse with green velvet gaiters. Combine these pieces with camel suede ankle boots. You can imagine that if the velvet leggings had been replaced with jeans, the outfit would still have looked great, but the style would have been very different.
Wear it with a white wool coat and black sweater dress
Sometimes you can just treat black velvet leggings like typical cotton leggings. Sometimes you don’t even notice they’re made of velvet if you don’t look carefully. Even so, the randomly shiny texture adds an extra dimension to any outfit you wear. For example, you can wear the leggings with a black sweater dress, white wool coat, and black ankle boots for a chic business casual look.
Black leggings with white lace
For an artsy and chic look, you can wear a white lace top with black velvet leggings and ankle boots. Wearing a black floppy hat gives the outfit an extra artistic touch.
Red velvet leggings with a black sweater and leather jacket
When it comes to styling a black leather jacket, the safest and best looking choice seems to be to wear it with either skinny jeans or leather pants. As a creative alternative, you can wear the red velvet leggings. You can combine these pieces with a sweater with a black print and a shirt with a white collar.
Red leggings & gray comfortable knitted sweater
As a casual and comfortable-looking outfit that is really easy to take off. Wear a gray comfy oversized knit sweater with red velvet leggings. Add some nice details by wearing a black felt hat and black open-toed ankle boots.
Black leggings with Army Green Military Jacket
Similar to other typical leggings, you can also style them with a long t-shirt or even a shirt dress. For example, wear a black long-print t-shirt, black velvet leggings and ankle boots. Add some roughness to the outfit by wearing an army green military jacket.
Blue velvet leggings with a white shirt and gray, cropped sweater
You can see the blue velvet leggings as a variation of the blue skinny jeans. Imagine what this outfit would have looked like with skinny jeans. It would have been a really good outfit too. It just depends on what style you want to wear. If you want to go with the blue velvet leggings, just combine them with a white shirt with buttons and a gray cropped sweater. Wear a pair of boho-style heeled sandals that go with the rest of the outfit.
Red velvet leggings with a black leather jacket over the shoulders
The use of layers for this outfit is pretty amazing. For the top, wear a black long print t-shirt and drape a black leather jacket over your shoulders. For the bottom, wear red velvet leggings and black suede ankle boots. It’s very interesting to see how the velvet and suede actually look pretty similar and go well with each other.
Wear it with a black leather bomber jacket
Instead of combining a black leather bomber jacket with leather pants, you can wear the black velvet leggings. The outfit also consists of a white printed t-shirt and black leather boots.
Red velvet gaiters with a matching velvet jacket
This is a rare but nice looking two piece set that includes the red velvet jacket and leggings. Keep it simple by wearing only black items to the set, including the black printed t-shirt, black ankle boots and a black scarf.
Black sweater over gray oversized t-shirt
For an adorable and fragile look, you can wear a black sweater with a gray oversized t-shirt that is sticking out. For the floor, wear the black velvet leggings and leather ankle boots. Add some extra beauty by wearing a black knitted hat and gray knit scarf.
Wear it with a white blouse and a short leather jacket
This is an interesting outfit that, to be honest, is not that easy to take off. It takes a healthy body to look good with it. For the top, wear a white blouse with a short leather jacket. Instead of wearing the jeans to combine with the leather jacket, wear the burgundy leggings to better show off your curves.
Wear with a black tank top and felt hat
This outfit is a cool and minimalist all black outfit. Just wear a black tank top with black velvet leggings and heeled sandals. Add that final unique touch by wearing a black floppy hat.
Long white chiffon shirt with blue velvet leggings
Wear a white long chiffon skirt with blue velvet leggings as an artistic casual outfit. Add black high heels to this outfit with a black felt hat.
Reg leggings with white turtleneck sweater
The red velvet leggings can look adorable with a white, oversized, thick sweater. The black suede ankle boots go perfectly with the shoes.
I just shared with you some outfit ideas for the velvet leggings. While I think wearing something special every day can be a little too much, I can see that wearing the leggings occasionally can add a lot of variety to your everyday outfit.
