When it comes to chinos, many people associate them with business casual or formal work outfits. They don’t seem to have anything to do with casual wear. The truth is, you can also achieve a young and elegant casual look if you really pay attention to how you style them correctly. Jeans are still my favorite piece for causal outfits, there’s no doubt about that. But it’s always good to add variety to your everyday outfit. You have 365 days a year. You want to try different things, not to surprise people, but to make you happy by just having fun. In this blog post, I’m going to share some of my favorite ways to wear chinos casually.
Gray long sleeve t-shirt with navy chinos
Let me start with a simple outfit that is suitable for all seasons. Just wear a gray long sleeve t-shirt with navy chinos and white sneakers. In cold weather, you can simply add a black trench coat to the outfit.
Wide striped t-shirt with beige chinos
As simple as this outfit seems, it’s a great demonstration of how color-matching items can make your outfit more balanced. You may have noticed that the white t-shirt has some wide stripes that go perfectly with the beige chinos. Wear a pair of color-coordinated sandals or ankle boots to complete this outfit perfectly.

At first glance, there are two big advantages of wearing beige chinos. First, the color is so subtle that it doesn’t pull the focus away from the top of your body. Second, they are usually just straight leg pants that are pretty easy to take off for any body type. This outfit looks very simple but is actually a low key sexy outfit. The low-waisted chinos and sandals keep the focus on the upper part of your body. Hence, you can wear something beautiful and subtly sexy, like a semi-transparent white t-shirt. The coolest thing about this outfit is that no one will think that you are making an effort to look sexy. They are just drawn to you without knowing why.

I’ve just covered some outfit ideas that include white tops, simply because these chinos are easy to wear with white tops. If you want to try a black top, you probably need to pay a little more attention to the combination of color and cut to avoid imbalance. Another popular color for the chinos is olive green. The color itself seems to look very pleasant, so it’s pretty easy to style it casually. You can easily combine the green chinos with a white sweater and white sneakers. If you want to add a bit of character to the outfit, you can wear chukka boots instead.
Wear with a gray sweater over a plaid shirt
As a nice casual outfit idea that uses some layering tricks, it can probably make you look slimmer and taller. You want to wear a plaid shirt and top it with a gray sweater. Team them with cuffed chinos and flats with fleece shoes. I love the perfect balance of this outfit achieved through the perfect layering. Just give it a try as it isn’t too difficult to make it through. Just make sure you have the details and the right balance.

To style black chinos, the easiest way to style is to wear a white top. For a little twist, you can wear a white and light gray striped t-shirt. A thin belt can also help balance all of the parts.

It’s very interesting that loose-fitting gray chinos actually make you look a bit sporty. It has to be because it reminds me of the gray joggers. A light gray knitted sweater and gray chinos with cuffs make a good casual outfit. Pair them with white sneakers to complete the outfit.
Purple t-shirt with gray chinos
As simple as this outfit seems, the color combination makes it my favorite outfit idea on the list. Three simple pieces, namely the purple T-shirt, the gray chinos with cuffs and the white sneakers, go together perfectly.
Short-cut chinos with a denim shirt
So it can be argued that a shirt is not part of this blog post that focuses on casual wear. I would argue that the denim shirt is right on the border between casual and business casual. In any case, the bottom line is that it should look good. Simply combine the denim shirt with chinos with cuffs and black flats for this outfit that is suitable for both work and casual hangouts.
