Last time I shared some of my favorite ideas for wearing a felt hat and I really enjoyed putting together this list. (I’ll leave a link to this blog post at the end of this article.) This time, I’m going to talk about something really similar, which is the black floppy hat. I know that for many of you, when it comes to felt hats and floppy hats, there is a pretty high wall that prevents you from stepping outside your outside. I just want to know that the wall was created by your mind, and one trick I have learned from other bright minds to force yourself into a difficult action is to just count from 5 to 1 and then move on. So there you go, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, let’s take a look at some of the best ways to style a black floppy hat and take action to try them out.
Black floppy hat with a knotted denim shirt and pencil skirt
I’ll start with an elegant outfit that you can either wear to casual hangouts or to work (take your hat off when you enter the office). Just wear a knotted denim shirt and pencil skirt. For the shoes, I would recommend ballerinas or sandals. You can wear white sneakers if you really want to look casual. Then of course put on the black floppy hat that makes this outfit so unique.
Wear it with black and white striped t-shirts and knee high boots
I can’t remember how many times the black and white striped t-shirt came up on my blog posts with top outfit ideas. That says something about the importance and versatility of the t-shirt. Wear a long-sleeved striped t-shirt with black skinny jeans, brown leather knee boots and a black floppy hat for this outfit.
Wear with a black scarf & cardigan
Sometimes I have a feeling that the black floppy hat can easily throw you off balance as it makes the top look heavier. Most of the time it’s not really a problem, but if you want to fix this little flaw, wearing a scarf can make up for it. As an example, you can wear a white t-shirt, black leggings, cardigan, black linen scarf, and black hat.

A black floppy hat reminds me of some old, classic French films for a reason. And I have a feeling that a black and gray look can capture that classic sleek look. You can also wear a comfortable heather gray knitted sweater with black leggings and a floppy hat.

A floppy hat can make a good artistic outfit when you combine it with other black or white pieces. This outfit can be paired with a comfortable white sweater and black leather pants. Complete your outfit with leather boots and a black hat.
Wear it with navy and white striped tee & skinny jeans
Sometimes you can just try putting on a black floppy hat to see how it goes with the usual casual outfit you wear. Very often you can find something that looks good yet unique. This outfit is a good example of an already good looking casual outfit with an additional hat. To achieve this look, you can simply wear a dark blue and white striped t-shirt with skinny jeans and ballet flats. It looks good without a hat, with the hat it looks more stylish and artistic.
Wear it with a tie-breasted bodycon dress and high boots
If you are among the group of people who have made an effort to keep themselves in shape, this outfit can easily be the best looking outfit on this list. The figure-hugging black tie-breasted dress and over-the-knee boots are such beautiful pieces that they almost certainly look good if you have a nice figure. The black floppy hat adds the finishing touches that only require people’s attention.

For a really casual unisex look, you can wear a light gray blouse with black skinny jeans and ankle boots. The black floppy hat will give you that old-school gentlemen look.

As a big fan of the boho style, I keep exploring different ways to dress in the boho style. While you may not see that often, a black floppy hat and boho dress can look pretty awesome together. You can also combine the black hat with something of a light color. Wear with the floppy hat, for example, a white T-shirt, black jeans, ankle boots and, above all, a green cardigan with a long knitted sweater.
